Take your web design business beyond WordPress.
A proposed cohort for established WordPress designers who want to build with AI and Astro, and give clients a clear reason to keep working with them.
You’ve built client websites with Elementor, Divi or a similar page builder. You know how to design a good site. Now you want to work out where AI fits into the business you’ve already built.
I’m Matt. After more than 16 years working with WordPress, I now use AI and Astro for client sites. I’m planning a cohort to share that process, including the research and content work that helps clients understand what they’re paying for.

I’ve made the move myself.
Bring the new tools into your client work.
If a prospect asks why they should pay you when AI can make a website, you need an answer you can demonstrate. For me, that starts with research, before I write a page or start designing.
Research before you design.
I’ll show you how I use AI-assisted research to understand what a client’s customers are looking for, and to look for questions competing websites haven’t answered. You’ll learn to check the sources and take the findings back to the client, then turn them into a content strategy: which pages to create and what each needs to say. That gives your client a site that helps people find their business and see why it’s right for them.
Move the sites that are ready.
Learn to recognise client sites that can work as static pages and move them off WordPress. Retiring the old WordPress installation removes its plugins from the live site. Keep the content and page addresses that matter, and check the result before launch.
Build and make changes with AI.
For new projects, use AI with Astro to build around the brief. Give an AI agent the client’s email, then review the changes it makes. Build a form around the questions the client needs to ask, and check that it works before it goes live.
Give clients a reason to invest.
Use the research, and the decisions that came from it, to explain what clients are paying you for. We’ll also look at how to offer ongoing content and care, so you can keep helping as their business changes.
Here’s where I’ve used the process.
Vectis Home Physio is the first client project I’ve taken through this research and writing process. Jacob’s one-page Wix website had fallen behind his business. Research shaped the new pages, including one for relatives arranging care.
I’ll use that work to explain the decisions behind the website. ThroughCodeless Coach, I also teach Bubble.io builders one to one, working through problems in their own projects.
