Website redesign, with the words written for you.
Your business has moved on. The website still describes the old version. I’ll help you work out what needs changing, then write the content and build a site around what you do now.
Tell me about your websiteWhat needs to change?
A tired-looking homepage is easy to spot. The harder problem is a website that leaves out half of what the business now does.
Perhaps you offer a service that barely gets a mention, or every enquiry starts with the same questions about prices and how things work. Or the writing sounds so unlike you that you avoid sending people the link.
I’m Matt. I work with small-business owners across the UK, from my base on the Isle of Wight. We start with a conversation about the business and the customers you want to reach. You don’t need a brief. Or a folder of finished copy.
A redesign starts with the pages
Before designing anything, I look at what your customers search for and what they need to know before getting in touch. We also go through the existing website. Useful content deserves to stay, and I’d rather keep a page that works than rewrite it for the sake of it.
That gives us a plan for the pages and the job each one has to do. One service might need a fuller explanation. Prices might deserve a page of their own. And different customers may need different starting points.
I then write the website content and design the homepage around it. You review the work as it takes shape, so we can check the facts and make sure it sounds like your business.
Once the content and design are agreed, I build the site and get it ready for launch. We agree the scope and timing before work starts.
What that looked like for Vectis Home Physio
Jacob’s one-page Wix website was out of date within six months. His business had changed, and the site needed to explain more of it.
I researched what potential customers were looking for, then planned pages around his services. Families arranging care needed information of their own. Fees and home visits needed a clear explanation too.
You can see the Vectis Home Physio page plan and finished website, with the reasons behind those decisions.
Rebuild costs £2,495
The price covers research and page planning, all the website copy, and the design and build. Payments follow the work:
- £495 for research and a plan for the pages and their messages.
- £1,000 for the content and homepage design.
- £1,000 for the build and launch.
After launch, mandatory Care is £99 a month. That includes hosting and up to an hour of changes each month. There’s no VAT to add.
If you want regular new content after launch, Grow costs £2,995. It includes Rebuild, plus three months of content drawn from a 45-minute conversation each month. Compare the website options and ongoing costs.
A few things you might be wondering
Does my website need a full rebuild?
Maybe not. It might only need a few changes. If you like your existing WordPress website and want someone to take over its upkeep, Rescue moves it to a simpler home and keeps the design and page addresses. It costs £99/month for 12 months, with hosting and care included. We’ll talk through which approach fits.
What happens to my existing Google traffic?
Existing page addresses and useful content go into the plan from the start. If an address has to change, it needs a route to the right replacement. Google explains that rankings can fluctuate during a site move. I won’t promise that a redesign leaves rankings untouched.
Do I have to write the content?
No. You explain the business and check the drafts. I do the research and writing. Existing brochures or emails can be useful starting material, but you don’t need to turn them into website copy first.
Who looks after the website afterwards?
Me. When your services or prices change, you come back to the person who worked on the site. Website Care covers hosting and up to an hour of changes each month.
